The Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) highlighted a wide range of AI governance issues, including the widespread use of generative AI solutions outside of corporate policy and enforcement capabilities, which leads to significant security blind spots. A separate research report published this year noted that fewer than half of organizations have specific strategies in place to combat AI threats.
